Goodbye, Hello
Poetry #4
“you hurt me”
she said as they walked past her in line
smiling from side-to-side
“you should have defended me”
she whispered in her head
as she put the green cap on
“I will never forgive you”
she thought as she watched her ‘friends’
walk in front of her
“I am finally free.”
she sighed as she sat on the brown chair
listening to the valedictorian
“this is the end”
she threw the cap in the air
as she said goodbye to those
she used to care
— to the people who hurt her in high school
