“Us against the world” vibes

To all the romantic souls out there, I think I found the perfect K-pop song for you. “Just Me And You” by Taemin is a dreamy and sensual song about two lovers who focus on their deep love for each other.

It’s a song that has a classic Hollywood feel with a mix of old school vibes. When something is deemed as classic, it usually means that it “never” goes out of style.

In my opinion, that’s the exact feeling that I get when I listen to “Just Me And You.” It’s a song that expresses a strong and genuine love between two people who will never “go out of style.” Their love for each other will never get old and it continues to deepen as they fall more in love with each other.

Furthermore, I love how Taemin displays love in such a classy and heartwarming way. When I listen to this song, I feel like I’m sitting on Cloud 9 or I’m slow dancing in a huge ballroom with the love of my life.

One of my favorite parts in the song was:

Sometimes rather than any words
The conversation with our own eyes right now
It spreads thicker in my heart
Fall deeper for you
So I can’t get out

때론 어떤 말보다
지금 같은 눈의 대화가
내 맘에 짙게 번져가
너에게 더 깊게
헤어나지 못하게

I don’t know what it was about this part that really stuck out to me. I think it has a lot to do with expressing love for someone without the physical touch.

According to research, when two lovers gaze into each other’s eyes, their hearts beat at the same rate. (Cassimally, 2013).

So, it’s funny to me that Taemin unintentionally (or maybe intentionally) added psychology into his song.

Overall, I think the whole message behind this song is about two young people who have a special love for each other. It’s so powerful that in the end, they’re able to block out the world and just focus on each other.

And maybe that’s why Taemin ends the song with…

“Just Me And You”
